Nappy Guide

There are several types of reusable nappy, this little guide will help you to decide which types to try. Some parents prefer to stick to one type, while others mix and match. Whatever the time or occasion there is a nappy to suit!

Pocket Nappies

Easy to put on and take off, these nappies do not require any extra covers or wraps. They come in sized or onesize fits most, and a variety of brands and colours. They consist of a pocket formed from an inner layer and a waterproof outer. The pocket needs to be stuffed with absorbent inserts which come with the nappy. You can add more boosters or inserts for heavy wetters. One size nappies have adjustable poppers so that the can grow with your baby and always ensure a good fit.

All In One (AIO) Nappies

Easy to use, as they are all in one and don't require any extras. Due to the extra thickness they are slower to dry than other types of nappies.

All In Two (AI2) Nappies

These are similar to the AIO nappies, but have separate snap in layers which allows quicker drying as they can be separated for the washing/drying process.

Fitted / Shaped Nappies

Fitted nappies come in either sized or one size varieties. The advantage of these nappies is that they are economical and reliable, the downside is they are not waterproof and do require a separate outer wrap or cover.

Sized vs One Size

Sized nappies offer a slimmer fit at all stages, but you will need to buy more nappies as your baby grows. One size nappies may be a little bulkier, but can grow with your baby meaning you don't need to buy so many.
